8.3.9     ACFI 6 - COGNITIVE SKILLS

The ‘Total Score’ from the Psychogeriatric Assessment Scale (PAS) - Cognitive Impairment Scale populates directly into the Cognitive Skills Checklist within a resident’s ACFI Claim Submission.

The PAS in Platinum 5.0 is an exact replica of the PAS – CIS tool within the Department of Health and Ageing ‘ACFI Assessment Pack’.  The PAS can only be completed by a health professional trained in using the PAS.

Note: The ‘View Report’ (printable) version of the PAS in Platinum 5.0 is not the ACFI Report, as required for supporting evidence as part of an ACFI Appraisal Pack.  The ‘ACFI 6 PAS’ Report (available via Reports / ACFI) is auto-populated with data from the electronic PAS in Platinum 5.0 and reflects the report format required by validators. The appraiser should sign this form. (Please refer to the ACFI Reports section of this user manual for further details).

The screenshot below shows the specific section in the PAS which is linked to ACFI 6 Cognitive Skills.

Details from relevant other Assessments also populate into the Evidence section of ACFI 6 Cognitive Skills, displaying the assessment from which the data is linked and the relevant data, as recorded in the assessment.  This ensures that users are able to view any inconsistencies that may exist between details in other sections of the program.  The following assessments contain questions which are linked to the Evidence section of ACFI 6 Cognitive Skills:

·         Level of Understanding – Cognitive Function

·         Health Management

·         Sensory and Neurological Function

·         Communication / Hearing / Speech / Vision Assessment

·         Resident / Client Administration Details

·         Spiritual and Cultural Needs
