8.1.1     ACFI Functionality within Platinum 5.0

Functionality that supports the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) is embedded within Platinum 5.0.  All ACFI features within Platinum 5.0 are permissions based.  Users assigned the relevant permissions can access the following features within the system:

          i.    ACFI Claim Submission – The ACFI Claim Submission incorporates the two ACFI Diagnosis Elements and the twelve ACFI Questions and allows users to complete an ACFI Claim for residents.  The ACFI Claim Submission also allows a direct B2B link to Medicare, following the initial set-up of your system for this functionality in conjunction with Leecare Solutions.  Data from a resident’s assessments auto-populates their ACFI Claim Submission, providing an ACFI Rating (A to D) and Score for each ACFI Question.  Supporting evidence is displayed for each ACFI Question from primary Assessments (e.g. the PAS) and others which may include relevant information (e.g. Level of Understanding – Cognitive Assessment).  The Category (Low, Medium or High) and the Subsidy/Rate for each of the three ACFI Domains is also calculated and displayed. This is used to calculate the total ACFI Rate (i.e. the combined rate of all three domains) for the resident.

ii.    ACFI Reports – Platinum 5.0 contains the mandated ACFI Assessments/Records required to be stored in a resident’s ACFI Appraisal Pack.  These ACFI Reports are generated based on data entered by staff into a resident’s relevant assessments and Daily Forms.  Two additional ACFI Reports include the ACFI All Residents Report and the ACFI Selected Resident Report, which display ACFI Claim Submission and Claim Status details for all or a selected resident, respectively.

iii.    Manage Daily ACFI Rates – This feature enables a user to edit/set the Daily ACFI Rates when they are adjusted by Medicare.

iv.    ACFI All Residents Calculator – This feature displays all residents’ Ratings and Categories for each ACFI Question and Domain.  The subsequent claim amount for each resident is also displayed allowing users to easily view the amount of income receivable. This tool is useful to review and complete projections by changing the scores within the questions for monitoring potential increases to funding. It also allows a user to view the points needed for the resident to reach the next category.

        v.    ACFI Claim Status Viewer – This feature identifies the status of claims submitted to Medicare.

vi.    ACFI Settings – These are related to the set-up of ACFI Online Claiming.

This User Manual provides detailed explanations and instructions pertaining to each of the above features.
