Platinum 5 – MedSig Interface

Leecare Solutions are pleased to provide our customers with the benefits of Platinum 5’s (P5) interface with Webstercare’s MedSig program.  If your organisation is licensed to use the MedSig program then certain data will link into your P5 program based on the various functions that have been established.

  1. Activating the MedSig and P5 Interface

The Leecare client managers will coordinate activation of the interface with the requesting organisation. Please contact clientmanager@leecare.com.au or phone 03 9339 6888 to book in this activity.

An Initial Data load and checklist will be coordinated between Leecare, Webstercare and the organisation, with clear steps and responsibilities to ensure a successful deployment of the integration interface.

Note: An upgrade to the latest P5 Version may be required.

Note: The Webstercare Interfaced Fields will need to be made visible OR added into the Health Management form- The Leecare Client Manager will organise this activity

  2. Configure the facility address for each facility.

The organisation must add the facility address into the P5 application settings (if not already done) as this will be used as the ‘resident address’ when sending/receiving information from MedSig.

The address of the facility should be entered for each Facility in P5:

    ·         Tools>>Application Settings>>Add Facility Level Setting.

  3. Configure the MedSig Pharmac/ies for each facility.

The organisation must add the Pharmacy name/s in the application settings as this will be used when sending/receiving information from MedSig.

Pharmacy names need to be confirmed with your Webstercare MedSig contact in order to ensure that the pharmacy name entered matches exactly with that set up in MedSig

The Pharmacy name/s must be entered under the Facility level setting for each Facility in P5:

    ·         Tools>>Application Settings>> Add Facility Level Setting >>Medsig pharmacies (comma separated list).

    ·         Note: if more than one Pharmacy a , is used to separate each pharmacy name.

    ·         Note: the list of supply pharmacies must be created at both the initialisation stage as well as on-going (as pharmacies are added/deleted).

  4. Configure the frequency of Sync's between the 2 programs

Leecare solutions will do this as part of the interface activation

  5. Admitting New residents

When the Webstercare MedSig Integration tick is enabled (during interface activation)

a new feature will be activated on the Resident Admission and Edit profile feature.

NOTE: Leecare will hide the Preferred Chemist field on the Resident Client Details Form – This information will still appear on reports, and can then be changed from the Edit Profile page if required at a later date

NOTE: if the resident being admitted to P5 uses a pharmacy that does not appear in the drop-down list, then please confirm whether a new pharmacy needs to be added prior to admission as you will not be able to admit without the preferred pharmacist being selected.

NOTE: Selecting ‘Other’ will mean that the Resident will not be linked to any Pharmacy in MedSig.

  6. Resident Demographic details – Resident Details to MedSig from P5

Resident demographic details are entered and updated in Leecare P5. The following information then flows to MedSig to ensure consistency of information between systems.

    (if provided)

  7. Medication Details in P5 from MedSig – Health Management form

Current Medication Profile details will be shown in P5, in the Health Management Form.

*Note if this field is not visible in the Health Management form please contact clientmanager@leecare.com.au or phone 03 9339 6888 to have it activated.

Hint * selecting the CTRL & F keys together, (the Find feature) and typing in the word Webstercare, a User can find the location within the Health Management for the ‘Webstercare Medication Profile’

Progress notes Auto-entry into P5 from MedSig

If there is a new / updated clinical note in MedSig, a Progress Note regarding the resident is created in P5 with this message 'MedSig General Clinical Note update' and tagged with the category ‘Medsig Message’

If a PRN medication is administered or reviewed in MedSig, a Progress Note regarding the resident is created in P5 with this message 'Webstercare PRN Medication Administration Change’ and tagged with the category ‘Medsig Message’

If the Medication Profile is updated in MedSig, a Progress Note regarding the resident is created in Platinum 5 .

Platinum 5 will check and compare any differences in the MedSig Medication Profile and display ONLY the changes from the profile,

As the MedSig medication profile does not maintain differences and is designed to only show the current profile – we have added the extra information into the progress notes for each auto entry:

  8. Messages sent on admission and discharge

When a resident or client is admitted to or discharged from P5, a message is sent to MedSig and your pharmacy service provider.

These messages may be delayed depending on the sync cycle  to reach each program hence please refresh your browser to view any changes made if you remain in the same form / area and wish to see the update immediately.
